COOL Central Air Conditioning Program

Did you know ENERGY STAR® labeled central air conditioning units can save up to 20 percent on cooling costs? To help with the purchase of a new ENERGY STAR central air conditioner, the COOL SMART Program offers a customer mail-in rebate of up to $500 for the purchase and installation of high efficiency central air conditioning units or air source heat pumps that meet or exceed 2006 ENERGY STAR minimum standard Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) of 14, and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of 8.2 (for heat pumps). In addition, Quality Installation Verification (QIV) service is now available through a growing number of participating contractors.
